Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an Indian-born British American musician and sitarist, is well known for her music. She was first within her age bracket to receive the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka is a new star on the rise in Indian sitar. She is a student and daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar. Born in London, she spent the beginning of her career traveling between London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was in New Delhi when she was just 13 years old. Then she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in 1999. Anouskha's career as a recorder and performer is remarkable, even at her age. She frequently joins her father during performances, something she's been doing for several years. She released her debut album in 1998. dropped Anourag as her debut single album. Anoushka was a part of her father during his world tour, gained a remarkable number of experiences. As a teenager, she performed in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison.
